Here's a conflicting issue in my mind. Ya know how now when you D/L songs off Kazaa or some P2P thing, they have those rigged songs that have these caterwauling (haha) and discordantly shrill bursts of what sounds like a fucked-up dial-up modem? Of course you do you compulsive music pirator. Personally, I buy only the CD's of the groups that I am hella into like Evanescence and Zhou Jie Lun, oh yeah, Linkin Park too. However, the other, let's say 90.6758% of my music collection consists of these pirated songs. The artists are probably threatening the makers of Kazaa with their lives, but happy lil asian boy me is just stealing their work. I know its wrong, yeah to pirate music is wrong, but it just feels so damn good! Well imagine if you are the artist, like some underground kid who just released a low-selling CD so you can move outa your parents basement. Then you make a few thousand dollars but sales are then dropped to nothing. Then you open Kazaa and search for your blood, sweat and tears song and you find 10 million people sharing it with the word for no money to ya. Man, I wouldn't want to be in the room with that guy. But, in the whole picture of things, pirating music isn't such a heinous crime, in light to things like chasing this kid down an alley in Castro St. then beating the living crap out him with 2 other people, and for what reason, cause we could. Haha sorry Scott. Ah, the good 'ol days, hellll yeahhh! People who smoke piss me off. My best friends don't piss me off. What a hypocritical mind I have. Here's the thing though, we as a race of intelligently thinking beings, are utterly and completely hypocritical. We, most of the time, fight a fight against an enemy which essentially resides in us in some shape or form. For instance, the haughty ones who have such supercillious ideas of themselves, are often the ones with the greatest amount of self-esteem issues. The people who drive Porshes often use it as a symbol to make up for some lacking qualities in la cama. We fight great wars in the name of peace. Fighters are the ones who have the most they feel they need to defend. We smile at those above us and sneer at those below. We give charity under the eyes that judge us and never under the eyes that cannot. Lil white boys, trying to act like they are from the ghetto even while they ride to Costco in their parents S-Class Benz. We cherish love as the one uniting force of happiness and when it ends, we curse it till our tongues bleed. The only ones that can rip up our emotions are the ones we willingly give them to. Look at what you critisize, look at what you are. You'll find that what you sneer at and what you are are quite equal. Umm, random song plug now, here we go: Tension - Our Story Who understand Mandarin that I don't know of yet? It would be interesting to know. Me out. Stephen at 10:27 PM | |
